Hot Tips from the Deloitte 'Fast 50' Winners

We decided to look at firms associated with the Deloitte Fast 50 growth list because most of these businesses are relatively new to the market and all of them have succeeded well above New Zealand’s average business so who better to learn from but the best! There's some gems here in terms of both their sales and marketing activities.

By learning from the best, we hope this level of success becomes the norm in New Zealand and we can all shift the dial for growth for New Zealand businesses. 

Our insights:

●      44% of firms on the Deloitte Fast 50 said word of mouth was the most effective way to increase brand awareness, generate new leads, in an affordable way.

●      92% of businesses keep a high customer involvement throughout the buying process, continually seeking feedback and creating customisation to meet the customer's needs

●      Of the predominantly business to business companies, 63% identified key decision makers in their targeted businesses and used this to their advantage.

●      68% of these companies have various customer retention initiatives or place a high focus in this area

●      100% of these businesses have challenged the status quo. They are doing the industry basics to a high standard but have engaged in primary customer research to identify how things could be done better and they have certainly followed through

●      68% of these companies have identified meaningful external networks and engage with these which contributes to their success

●      Ways in which customer care was provided differed but 84% of companies engaged in the most appropriate initiative that worked in the context of their business to create/maintain relationships

●      48% of these companies identified and engaged in appropriate/powerful partnerships

●      72% of these companies tributed a large portion of their success to their wonderful staff members

●      Of those who have engaged some sort of marketing/sales help beyond the internet, 100% of those who have said it was worth it
