Leadership Models Across the Globe

We're super fans of contextual leadership. Basically, we believe that each organisation, stage and culture, requires a different style of leadership. There's no 'best way'.

We also know that business is all about people. So developing an understanding of people, their values, capabilities, the different cultures they're from and operating in, along with the business approaches that have and do, shape them, can often give good insight on how to better engage with your team, clients, advisors, investors and so on. In the face of increasing talent wars and borderless sales, appreciating these nuances can be super valuable.

Business Insider said that "Different cultures can have radically different leadership styles, and international organisations would do well to understand them.

British linguist Richard D. Lewis charted these differences in his book “When Cultures Collide,” first published in 1996 and now in its third edition, and he teaches these insights in seminars with major corporate clients."

He gives a great visual depiction of how organisational structure, power and content flow differently in various regions around the globe.
